A Not-So-Brief Hiatus

Five years.  Five years?  So I've been on hiatus...  a break.

Umm.... No.

Let's be clear, and let's get honest.  More like a breakdown. Mentally and psychologically exhausted.  But five years?  Where does the time go?  I mean that seriously.  I re-read these posts, and I find that I am the same.  But different.  I am... changed.

I spent a lot of time hiking.  Thinking.  Taking photographs (check out my photo blog: dogandpixie).  Doing some more thinking.

Our world has changed so much in this long-short period of time.

And so.  Here I am.  Back to the one thing -  that singular thing - that I find myself returning to time after time after time - the writing.

Five years, and I can't stay away.  I'm a bit rusty.  Perhaps a bit more cynical.

But... I'm here.

Welcome back, rusty one. Make sure you always remember, or is it, make sure you never forget? (Semantics?) This world is a much better place, because you are a part of it......

Thanks, Dell, for the words of encouragement. As you are a writer yourself, I am sure you understand that the writing never lets go. It's always there... in the background of our lives. I can no longer ignore the Siren call...
